Unfortunaly I wasn’t able to send pictures and clasifications until now due to lack of time, GSM coverage and many other bigger or smaller problems.

Hello off-roader friends!
TAT 2006 has just closed the doors! It was a fantastic adventure’s week with a little bit of everything: mud and dusty roads, heavy stormy rain and crystal clear sun, forestry paths and rocky rivers. Although some difficult stages on the EXTREME section made it impossible for eleven cars to continue, the remaining eigth teams (meaning sixteen cars) safely reached the finish line.

Οι ημέρες με τη βροχή πρέπει να ήταν πραγματική κόλαση! Δείτε τις σκοτεινές φωτό μέσα στο δάσος με την πολλή λάσπη και τις πολύ σκοτεινές που δείχνουν μια κατηφόρα με σπαρμένους κορμούς και πλευρική κλίση! Αυτό το δεντράκι εκεί στη μέση πρέπει να σήκωσε τόνους σίδερο!
” Η εξέλιξη των ειδών”…
Τον μεσαίωνα, οι μάχες γίνονταν με πέλεκεις και σπάθες. Τώρα, οι απόγονοι εκείνων των ανθρώπων, αγωνίζονται με σύγχρονα μεταλικά όπλα, στα ίδια σκοτεινά δάση, όπως τότε.
Αυτό που έχει παραμείνει ίδιο είναι οι μικρές ομάδες, η αξία της ατομικής προσπάθειας, τα hand made “όπλα”, που το καθένα είναι ίσως μοναδικό και χαρακτηρίζει-ταυτίζεται με αυτόν που το χειρίζεται.
Έτσι φτιάχνοταν τότε οι θρύλοι, έτσι και τώρα…
Αυτό που έχει αλλάξει είναι ότι τη θέση του απαίσιου πολέμου έχει πάρει ένα extreme άθλημα, ευτυχώς.
Όπως λένε ότι ο πόλεμος είναι μόνο “blood, sweat and tears”, έτσι το offroad είναι “mud, sweat and gears”.
Καλές οι έρημοι και οι σαβάνες, και η Moab desert, για ‘μένα όμως δεν υπάρχει καλύτερο terrain ή σκηνικό από αυτό, πουθενά στον κόσμο.
