    Hello Nomads!
It took us a little time to recover from the Easter’s days – the beautiful less known Greece that Mike revealed us, relaxing and most pleasant times between friends, a few bulgarian adventures on the way home… and selecting fotos (I don’t know about you but for me personally it is a big challenge to select only one foto with the fish-eating stork! Zina).
The dreamland of Kerkini’s drowned forest is now on our priority story-telling list. Thank you Muratidis for it! And although we do not understand much more greek than we did last winter, we are getting used more and more with you all talking greek-style around us. We’re going to miss that!

As for the bulgarian adventures, imagine a dead alternator, a country with no road-driving indications, the Fiat computer beeping from time to time allerting us to pull the car to the right and waiting right there for the car-service… Ionut was running like mad with the newly bought battery (we almost started a collection of them!), we strangelly arived in the middle of Sofia, turned there looking for the right highway to Russe, the time was ticking, the alternator was unexpectedly recovering from time to time. After an hour and a half in the mid-day rush-hour inferno around Sofia, we finally took the highway and full gas straight on. Everything consuming the precious electric charge was disconnected. The printed maps were back home in Bucharest, the car was beeping on waking and frightening us, the passengers, Ionut was saying practically nothing focusing on the steering weel and acceleration pedals. And the night was slowly falling, we were calculating the remaining kilometers in batteries (we still had money only for two or three). All of a sudden it striked all of us almost in the same time – as the sun were sunsetting BEHIND us, Russe was never on the road indicators, no romanian cars on the highway, WE WERE CLOSE TO ISTANBUL!!!

Riding at around 300 km from Istanbul, we took the well-known road from Evros to Bucharest! Extremely lucky that all this time the alternator was really charging, we passed Veliko Tarnovo, driving like in rally raids through an empty Bulgaria, no policemen, no cars, nothing… And as we had only 50 km left until Russe, Ionut had the uninspired idea to turn on the long range lights! Surprise – after 30 seconds the car beep-beep for the last time, the alternator being this time really dead! We arrived at the borders putting off the lights from time to time for the battery to recover a little.
With all the luck put together from the three of us, we managed though to arrive home that night…
All in all, it was a nice way to end up a beautiful greek adventure!

    Zina, Ionut and Johnny.
